Frye Island Golf Club
Frye Island Golf Club is located 25 miles west of Portland and as the name suggests is on an island, located on Sebago Lake. It is one of Maine’s hidden gems starting with the 10 minute ferry ride from Raymond to the island. The golf course is less than a mile from the ferry landing.
Upon arrival at the clubhouse, you will be treated to a wonderful Geoffrey Cornish designed course. The course is a 6,250 yard par 72 with two par fives and two par threes on each nine. The course includes a 9 hole layout with two sets of alternating tees (Gold and Silver) that allow an individual to play eighteen holes with a very different perspective on each nine. There is also a set of Red tees for juniors, women and seniors. The course layout includes narrow fairways with water coming into play on a majority of the holes and large receptive greens making Frye Island Gold Club a challenge for golfers of all abilities. Come enjoy a unique golf experience at the Frye Island Golf Course.
Riverside Golf Course
Riverside Golf Course is owned and operated by the City of Portland. The popular and traditional public golf facility first opened in 1932. The facility features an 18-hole course, a 9-hole course and a 3-hole practice course. The classic layout, rolling hills and tree-line fairways are bordered by the Presumpscot River.
Riverside is a very active golf course for both members and non-members. The practice course is also home to The First Tee of Maine at Riverside. The First Tee is a national program that grows the game of golf by teaching life skills and golf instruction to today’s youth. After completing your round, visit the clubhouse restaurant, Riverside Grill; a perfect place to sit out on the deck and view the beauty that is Riverside.
